What if you had your own personal d.j.?

I do, his name is Andy Davis. Before I could finish my first sip of tea this morning, Canned Heat's, "Going up to the country," was blasting through the kitchen. Round these parts you need strong tea, a sense of humor and a love for music or you'll never last. :) This song reminds me of fresh country air & simple living . . . I could use a dose. My mom says the country way of life is living by the K.I.S.S. theory: KEEP IT SIMPLE STUPID. I do tend to go too fast and realize every year that I am not so smart for doing so. There may be something to this kiss theory after all.

Whale chair.

Link to this beauty here.

Look it's after 5!

Image by Richard Perez, check him out here.

My truck is too big to park.

Maybe for added measure I could decorate it like the buses of Pakistan. These things are amazing. I would have to blast the "Ramones" for my back up signal instead of the boring beep, beep, beep. "AY OH, LETS GO."

Ninainvorm: by Nina van de Goor

This 27 year old Dutch student has already caught the eye of O, Oprah magazine, Ikea family living magazine & apartment therapy.com; her future appears to be as bright as her crafts. Clean but colorful style is the aesthetic that I appreciate most about Danish art. The reds, pinks and vibrant yellows scream happiness to me. Why not surround yourself with joy? Check out her etsy shop & her blog by clicking the links.

Honey, the new trend in gift giving

BEE FACTS
  • The honeybee is directly responsible for over 80% of all vital pollination. This accounts for more than 2/3 of the food we eat.
  • Honey-comb is mathematically the second strongest structure in the world beside pyramids.
These gift vials and stylish honey jars are available from bee raw honey, click here. If you haven't tried rasberry honey, go directly to your local market, pick it up and be amazed at the gorgeous taste.

Jim Marshall, his photography shaped our minds & our beliefs about ROCK & ROLL.

Marshall dies at 74 years of age, but leaves behind a collection of portraits of monumental value. Jim captured the most provocative photographs of the greatest musicians of all time. His images gave us insight into the private lives of the artists, but more importantly, he helped us understand what we were hearing & how to listen. By spending 24/7 time with Janis Joplin, The Beatles, Mick Jagger & Jimi Hendrix he was able to capture the soul and the true character behind the art. . . powerful to say the least. View his full collection here.

NEW LOOK

Oh my, in the mood to shake things up a bit. One day I will devote an entire work week to the logo for my blog, but today I just wanted to play. Ahhhh, that was fun, there are lots of possibilities to play with color here.

Did you hear the great news?

"The Lorax" has become part of the U.S. school curriculum. All children must have the book memorized before the reach grade six. After all, the answers to many of life's great inner struggles can be answered by the tale of this little environmentalist. Why didn't we think of this earlier?

"Plant a new trufulla. Treat it with care. Give it clean water. Give it fresh air. Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack. Then the Lorax and of of his friends may come back."

Thank you to all the politicians who spent their weekend debating this major "lorax" issue. What, the debate was not about the book? The next one should be.
